Dr. Elizabeth Groetken
Dr. Elizabeth Groetken O.D. received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry in 1994 after having attained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Dakota in 1990. Dr. Liz is Board Certified in diagnosing, treating and managing eye disease along with providing primary vision care, pre and post operative care and contact lens fitting.
Dr. Groetken previously lectured at the University of South Dakota on “Vision and Learning”. Dr. Liz attends several professional conferences each year to stay abreast of the latest education in eye health, having a firm belief in maintaining and expanding her and the entire staff’s knowledge to continue to bring Le Mars the best care. She often brings her staff to educational opportunities to keep them up to date on the latest developments in the industry.
Dr. Liz grew up in Utica, South Dakota and moved to Iowa in 1999 with her family. Dr. Groetken has been practicing optometry for 20 years, of those, 14 years have been enjoyed in Le Mars. In 2007 she realized a dream when she opened her own practice in the heart of Le Mars.
Dr Liz, along with her devoted husband, hold precious the time they have with their two children, Theryn and Kara. Dr. Liz and her family are passionate about basketball and enjoy supporting the local sports teams and the community of Le Mars.
